We do not use information collected through the Site to build advertising profiles or track you across unrelated websites for behavioral advertising.
3. Legal Bases for Processing
Where laws such as the GDPR or UK GDPR apply, our legal bases for processing personal information may include:
Consent. We rely on your consent before activating PostHog analytics or other non-essential tracking technologies where consent is required.
Legitimate interests. We may process limited information where necessary for our legitimate interests in operating, securing, maintaining, and improving the Site, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights and interests.
Your request or a contract. We may process information when necessary to respond to a request from you, take steps at your request before entering into an agreement, or perform an agreement with you.
Legal obligations. We may process information when necessary to comply with applicable law or a legally binding request.
When we rely on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time.
4. PostHog Analytics
We use PostHog, Inc. as our website analytics provider.
When you consent to analytics, information about your interaction with the Site may be transmitted to and processed by PostHog on our behalf.
PostHog provides tools that can record website events such as page views and interactions and may use first-party browser storage to associate activity with a visitor or session.
We configure PostHog for the limited purpose of understanding and improving our Site. We do not use PostHog data for third-party advertising.
PostHog maintains its own privacy policy describing its privacy, security, international-transfer, and data-processing practices. You can review PostHog’s privacy policy on PostHog’s website.
5. Cookies and Similar Technologies
Analytics cookies
Analytics are off by default.
If you select Accept in our cookie banner, PostHog may place or access first-party cookies, local-storage entries, or similar browser storage used for analytics.
These technologies can help recognize a browser across page views or repeat visits and maintain information associated with an analytics session.
If you decline analytics, we do not intentionally activate PostHog analytics or set PostHog analytics cookies.
Changing your choice
You may withdraw or change your analytics consent at any time.
Where the Site provides a cookie-preference control, you can use that control to update your choice. You can also remove stored Site data through your browser settings.
Removing Site cookies or storage may cause the consent banner to appear again.
Your browser may also allow you to block or delete cookies and local storage.
6. How We Disclose Information
We do not sell your personal information.
We may disclose limited information in the following circumstances.
Service providers
We use service providers to help us operate our business and the Site.
Our principal website analytics provider is PostHog, Inc.
We may also use infrastructure, hosting, security, networking, and business-communications providers that process limited information on our behalf as necessary to provide those services.
We expect service providers processing information on our behalf to use that information only for providing services to us or as otherwise permitted by law.
Legal requirements and safety
We may disclose information if we reasonably believe doing so is necessary to:
- comply with applicable law;
- comply with a subpoena, court order, or other valid legal process;
- respond to lawful requests by public authorities;
- investigate fraud, abuse, security incidents, or unlawful activity;
- enforce our agreements or policies;
- protect our rights or property; or
- protect the safety of Erinys, our users, or others.
Corporate transactions
If Erinys is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, bankruptcy, sale of assets, or similar business transaction, information may be disclosed or transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law.
7. No Sale or Targeted Advertising
We do not sell personal information for money.
We also do not disclose personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising or targeted advertising based on your activity across unrelated businesses or websites.
Because we do not engage in these practices, we do not currently provide a separate “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” mechanism.
Where applicable law requires us to recognize a legally valid browser-based opt-out signal, we will do so.
8. Data Retention
We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer period is required or permitted by law.
Generally:
- PostHog analytics data is retained for up to 12 months;
- technical and security logs are generally retained for up to 90 days, unless longer retention is reasonably necessary for investigating a security incident, preventing abuse, or complying with legal obligations; and
- emails and correspondence are retained for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to the inquiry and maintain appropriate business records.
We may retain information for longer where necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud or abuse, or establish or defend legal claims.
We may retain aggregated or de-identified information that can no longer reasonably be associated with an identifiable individual.
9. International Data Transfers
Erinys is based in the United States.
Information collected through the Site may therefore be stored or processed in the United States or in other countries where our service providers operate.
Those countries may have privacy laws that differ from those in your country.
Where applicable law requires safeguards for an international transfer of personal information, we or our service providers may rely on recognized transfer mechanisms such as adequacy decisions, contractual safeguards, Standard Contractual Clauses, or other legally permitted mechanisms.
